Marisa, Kimberly, Amanda, and Leticia Celebrate!
Marisa created her first scarf and it is fabulous!!!! She gave her lovely yellow scarf to her friend, Leticia. Leticia is also working on a very creative piece, punky and funky! Amanda and Kimberly are creating awesome knitted scarves as well. Learning a new skill and creating fabulous scarves is only part of what this group is all about.
Having fun and fostering friendships...absolutely priceless!

Thank you Helping Hands Foundation!
Christmas in September....
Thank you Helping Hands Foundation for providing 22 sets of knitting needles, yarn, training materials and books for our Strasburg High School knitting group. Our group has been limited in the past by a lack of materials. This gift from the HHF allowed a larger group of teens to have the opportunity to learn how to knit, a lifelong skill. Mrs. Stout and I looked at the training materials and prepared for the Wednesday lunch group. While not all of the students signing up were able to make this meeting, we had an excellent group and the rest will be in later in the week. Catherine, our left handed expert, was able to help the left handed students. Madison pitched in and assisted other students as we worked on casting on and knitting. Although the session was just not long enough, we will have time everyday during lunch to practice.
Helping Hands Foundation:
We thank you and want you to know how much we appreciate your interest, support, and generosity. Please take a look at this video to see us in action! Stay tuned for some fabulous projects to be posted on this blog. Hopefully, some squares for a community service project will be created this year as well! Many, many thanks!
